Pete passed away on Monday, August 10, 2026, after a short stay at Edith Cavell Rest Home. He was 81 years old. Pete was the heart of our family and we are broken hearted. Husband of Sue; father of Matt and Sarcha; father-in-law of Shelly and Sean; grandfather of Charles and Amanda; William and McKenzie; Stevi, Izzy and Fenna; and great-grandfather of Lola and Ivy. Brother of Gavin and Tricia. Friend of all who met him - whether at home, work, after work, or on the footpath. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses of the Respiratory Ward, Christchurch Hospital.

A celebration of Pete's life will be held on Friday, August 14, at 2.30pm, at Donegal House, 258 Schoolhouse Rd, Kaikoura.
