Passed away unexpectedly in Greymouth on September 4, 2026, aged 50. Dearly loved partner of Megan Tahapeehi, much loved and cherished Dad of Manu, and Taine, dearly loved son of Carol and John, loved son-in-law of Judy and Brownie, loved brother and brother-in-law of Phill and Kat, loved brother-in-law of Brendon and Michelle Pongia, and Quentin (deceased) and Sue Pongia, loved uncle of Maia, Hayden, Ava, Maia, and Armani, loved cousin of Amie, Meagan, Craig, and Rebecca and Paul, a great mate of many who will be sadly missed.

A Service to celebrate Jono's life will be held in Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Tainui Street, on Friday at 1.30pm. Jono will then be laid to rest at Burkes Creek Cemetery in Reefton.
