Born 1929, Frohsdorf, Austria, died August 11, 2026, Hamilton, NZ

Dearly loved husband of Wendy, father and father-in-law of Lisa and Andrew, and Melissa, poppa of Molly, Daniel and Marcela, Mallory and Charlie, and much-loved Onkel Ernst to all his nieces and nephews in Austria. An Austrian boy, he made NZ his home in 1953. Builder, skier, golfer, gardener and cook, he showed us a good life is lived with simple pleasures, shared generously. A private family farewell has taken place. A memorial to celebrate Ernst's life will be held at a later date.
