On September 15, 2026, peacefully at home, Ashburton, aged 95 years. Dearly loved husband of the late Audrey. Much loved father and father-in-law of Priscilla, the late Malcolm and Trish, Donald and Cathy, Kate and Leo, and Quentin and Yoshie. Treasured Grandad of Jason, and Samantha; Oliver, and Francis; Nicholas, and Rachael; Dylan, and Mitchell. Loved Great-Grandad of his 5 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service to remember Des will be held at Our Chapel, cnr East and Cox Streets, Ashburton, on Tuesday, September 22, commencing at 1.30pm, followed by interment at the Ashburton Seafield Cemetery.
