Passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 31, 2026, aged 82 years, surrounded by her loving whānau. Much-loved mother of Janine, and Marlene, adored grandmother of Jasmine, Alex, Eve, Maddy, Grace, Faith, and Louis, devoted mother-in-law and great mother-in-law of Jason; Phillip, Zane, Sonny, and Rawiri and cherished great-grandmother of Genevieve, Kenzo, Miller, Milo, and Kirirama, and best mate to John and Terry, and Quinn.

Forever loved and deeply missed by all who knew her

Caryll was known for her sharp mind, quick wit, love of travel, and passion for social justice. Caryll and her family would like to extend aâ?¯very special thank-you to Dr Gort Stephan from Burwood Health, Health Care NZ, for his wonderfully pragmatic approach over the years, and a big thank you also to the awesome support teams fromâ?¯Health Care NZ, Nurse Maude, and St John Ambulance, all of whom have made the final journey for Caryll so much easier. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cancer Society would be appreciated and may be made online at cancer.org.nz. An informal farewell will be held at The Vines Club, 651 Pound Road, Yaldhurst, on Tuesday, August 4, at 10.00am, followed by interment at Yaldhurst Cemetery, with a toast or three to follow at the Islington Tavern (The Swamp), in Templeton.
