Bryan FOWLER

Canterbury

Posted 18 September 2026

"The school bell has rung for the final time."

Loved husband of Rosie, brother of Anne and Gaye, uncle to all his nieces and nephews, and beloved stepfather to Lynda, Robbie and Jenny. Bryan passed away peacefully at the age of 90. A beloved teacher, tramper, friend and much-loved member of the community, Bryan lived a life filled with teaching, friendship, laughter and a deep love of the outdoors. Bryan was loved by many and remembered by countless pupils, colleagues and friends. He will be sadly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. The bell may have rung for the final time, but Bryan's lessons, stories, laughter and memories will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind. In keeping with Bryan's wishes, he will be cremated, followed by a celebration of his life to be held soon.
