COMBER, Valerie Anne (nee Bilham) BSc Three months to the day after her husband Russell died, Valerie joined him after a very quick decline on 24 July 2026, aged 89. Mother to Carol, Julie and Ali; grandmother to Arthur and Florence, Myles and Blake; mother-in-law to Peter and Chris. Long-term maths teacher at Diocesan School for Girls and St Cuthbert's, Val loved helping students who had difficulty with maths. She enjoyed painting.

A memorial service is planned in September in Eden Garden, Auckland.
