ASHBY, Steven Bruce. 9 December 1960 - 30 August 2026 Our Kauri has fallen. Devoted, hardworking, selfless, wonderful leader and husband to Rose. Adored, super proud, highly respected and sometimes "homeless looking" Dad to his darling Amelia and partner Louie. The pain is unbearable at losing our rock. There may be no All Blacks, NBA or David Bowie on the other side, but we shall always remember how important they were to you along with the TV remote, good food, the occasional Guinness and time with all those precious to you at the beach, Tāpapakanga. This shall be your final resting place along with an awesome river where the trout run free under the guidance of the "Better Fisherman", who you loved dearly.

A private cremation has taken place and a 'gathering' to celebrate the big man, Steve, will be held at the West End Rowing Club, 26 Saunders Place, Avondale, Auckland on Friday, 11 September 2026 at 2pm. Please no flowers. Bell, Lamb & Trotter Funeral Directors
