HUNTER, Robert Lewers. Passed peacefully at home on May 31st, 2026, aged 84. A man of sharp wit and endless curiosity. Rob had a gift for storytelling and a mind that never stopped exploring. The ocean was his first love, a passion that led him to a career as a marine engineer. Rob's creative spirit and thirst for learning remained vibrant until the end. Dearly loved husband, father, and cherished poppy, he is remembered by his family Isobel, Nicole and Zoltan, Claudia and Sebastian, and brother to Ian (in the UK). Rob will be deeply missed by all who knew his warmth and humour.

A private cremation has taken place.

A celebration of Rob's life will be held later this month. Any communication can be emailed to nzvaradi@gmail.com. "I am sailing home again across the sea, to be near you, to be free." - Rod Stewart.
