Peter HEALD

HEALD, Peter Martineau. Passed away peacefully at home on 8 August 2026, aged 73, his family with him and his favourite music playing, after a long and defiant battle with cancer. Devoted soulmate of Sue, beloved husband of the late Vicky, much loved father of Kelly, proud stepfather of Theo and Rose, and adored Poppa to Sage, Mateo and Kira. Peter was a strong and clever businessman who spent more than 50 years building and running successful businesses. A loyal colleague and a great mate to many, he will be remembered for his generosity, determination, humour and unwavering spirit. He had a lifelong love of surfing, sailing and music, and was happiest in the waves, on the water or with a guitar in hand. The family sincerely thank the many doctors, nurses and healthcare professionals who cared for Peter with such compassion along the way.

A celebration of Peter's life will be held on Friday 21 August at 2PM at 271 Glenmore Road, Coatesville, Auckland. Fair winds and following seas Pete, you meant the world to us.
