BARRETT, Peter John. We are deeply saddened to announce the sudden death in Christchurch of Wellington-based Professor Peter J. Barrett on 26 September 2026 at the age of 86. He was attending his last Antarctic Society of New Zealand meeting as its patron. Peter was the loving and beloved husband of Kay, loving father of Ben, Emily, Laura, Christopher, Melanie, Matthew, Jonathan (deceased); brother of Rosemary, Leigh and Judith (deceased). He was also a proud grandfather of Alec, Isobel, Santi, Toby, Louis, Alfie, Florencia, Maya and Julian.
