Nelson YOUNG

YOUNG, Nelson Edgar. Of Red Beach, Auckland. Died peacefully aged 84 years at Ryman Evelyn Page, in Orewa on 19th August 2026. Only child of Ray and Molly Young (Waihi). Much loved by his extended family in New Zealand and England. Enjoyed a great career as a primary school teacher and Principal. Respected and treasured by his many tramping friends at Auckland Baptist Tramping Club, who accompanied him on tramps in New Zealand and all around the world. An absolute gentleman and loyal friend to so many who will be greatly missed.

A celebration of Nelson's life is to take place at Whangaparaoa Baptist Church, 733 Whangaparaoa Road, Stanmore Bay on Monday 24 August at 1pm. This is to be followed the next day by his burial at Waihi cemetery on 25th August at 1pm. Safe in the arms of his Maker.
