JAMES, Neil Stanley. On Tuesday 4 August 2026, at Dunedin Hospital after a long battle with Parkinsons, aged 79 years. Much loved husband of Delyth, brother and brother-in-law of the late Keith and Pat, and Colin; father and father-in-law of Katie and Garreth, Evan and Steph; and poppa of Cara and Emilia. Neil was the Former Director of Computing Services at Otago University, fellow of Internet NZ, a runner, handyman, and climate activist. Special thanks to Parkinsons NZ (Otago) for their support, and the staff of Dunedin Hospital Ward 3b for their care and attention in Neil's final days.

A celebration of Neil's life will be held on 15 August. Please contact neil@esj.nz for details, or to convey messages to Neil's family.
