Died 27 July 2026Posted 29 July 2026

HAXELL, Margaret Anne (née Williams). It is with infinite sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret, peacefully at North Shore Hospital on 27 July 2026, aged 83, surrounded by loved ones - a faithful servant of her Lord, an organist extraordinaire, op shop stalwart, ardent gardener and friend to all and sundry. Adored wife of the late Herbert Ronald (Ron), loving mother to David and Peter, mother-in-law to Adina and grandmother to Toby, Leon and Aisha. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the staff of Ward 10, AT and R and latterly Rima at Totara Haumaru whose care has been exemplary. To Renal CNS Mary Baker, we think you're awesome, don't ever change who you are. Our sincere thanks to all our friends, family, neighbours and church folk who surrounded Mum with love, kindness and prayers in her final weeks. To those whom we have forgotten at this moment in time, we apologise but thank you too.

A service to celebrate Margaret's extraordinary life will be held at Devonport Methodist Church, 18 Owens Road, Devonport on Saturday, 1 August 2026 at 11.00 a.m. If you would like to arrange a time to spend with Margaret, please contact Manning Funeral Cottage.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to St John; donations may also be left at the service in her honour. Go now Mum, you are free. Go to your loved one and to your Lord whom you have faithfully served for so many years. May he hold you in the palm of his hand and grant you eternal rest and may the sea breeze be always at your back. With all our love.
