UPSON, Lyle Wayne. 24 May 1964 - 17 August 2026. Adelaide, Australia, passed away in Adelaide, where Lyle had made his home since moving to Australia in1998. Much-loved son of Graham and Zoe (deceased) Upson. Dearly loved brother of Glynis, Stephen, Keith, and Lynda. Born in Wellington, New Zealand, Lyle worked in the IT industry in both New Zealand and Australia. He had a remarkable aptitude for mathematics and was a skilled chess player, reflecting his sharp and analytical mind. Lyle was known for his good sense of humour and enjoyed live band music and following Australian Rules football. He also attended church from time to time and maintained a connection to this day. On 6th June 2015, Lyle suffered a devastating stroke in his Adelaide apartment. He was not discovered for approximately 12 hours and subsequently spent almost a year in hospital in Adelaide before moving into 24-hour care, where he remained until his death.The family would like to sincerely thank The Lighthouse, and subsequently Novita, and all the caring staff who supported Lyle over the years. Their kindness, dedication, and care were greatly appreciated by Lyle and his family. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends in NZ and Australia.
