GORDON, Lesley Elizabeth (nee Dudding) QSM, O. St John. Lesley left us peacefully, at her home, on her own terms, surrounded by family that could get here in time, late Friday afternoon 18th September 2026. Dearest wife of Bruce (deceased), much loved Mum of Catherine and Dave, Andrew and Sharon, and darling Nana of Harry, Charlotte and Lewis, Brylie, Cam and Emma. 85 years old but 55 years young - having received a Heart Transplant when she was 60 - Lesley was gifted precious years made possible by the selfless and generous donation of an organ donor in 2000. Lesley's commitment to her community was strong, focused and active until she was no longer able to enjoy what she did. 32 years as part of St John, a founding committee member and President of the Life Education Trust Hauraki, along with others beside her, organisations and committees resulted in successful outcomes and projects that she was quietly very proud of. Lesley was brave, private and intentionally independent. Her wish to remain in her own home would not have been at all possible without the amazing support, care and love from Liz, with Dr Tom, Pauline and the Team at Health Ngatea initially, then Ngatea Pharmacy, Hospice and The District Health Nurses. The arrival of food, flowers, cards and messages of remembrance, love and support has been overwhelming. Thank you seems an inadequate acknowledgement. A private family service and cremation has been held at Mum's request.
