JONES, Jennifer Mary (nee Strickett). 13 June 1932 - 20 September 2026 It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our dearly loved mother who passed away suddenly on Sunday aged 94. Beloved wife of Rev. David Jones (deceased). Much loved mother of Rosemary (deceased) and Alison. Mother-n-law to Bob and a cherished grandmother of Patrick and Rosie. Jennifer lived a long and remarkable life, characterised by her intelligence, academic nature, creativity and wonderful positive outlook on life. She had a genuine curiosity about the world and a lifelong love of learning, always taking an interest in the people and things around her. A dedicated educator. Jennifer taught for many years, spending the majority of her teaching career at Samuel Marsden Collegiate in Wellington. She took great pleasure in sharing her knowledge, encouraging others and helping young people develop their own love of learning. Through her teaching she enriched the lives of generations of students and formed many lasting friendships along the way. While we farewell her with great sadness, we also celebrate 94 years of a life well lived, filled with family, learning, creativity, accomplishment and an enduringly positive spirit. Rest peacefully, mum.
