MCCARTHY, James (Jim) Arthur. On Friday, 17 July 2026, peacefully, surrounded by his family, aged 94 years. Dearly loved husband of Audrey for 70 years. Much loved father and father-in-law of Deborah, Hayley and Aidan. Cherished grandfather of James and Tara, Kathryn and Pio, Reece, Reilly and Luca. Loved son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. Retired Chief Superintendent, NZ Police - served with distinction throughout his career from 1952 until retiring in 1987.

A service to celebrate Jim's life will be held at The Founders Chapel of Remembrance, 117 Rickit Street, Taupō, on Thursday, 23 July 2026 at 2:00pm.
