Clare WEST

WEST, Clare (formerly Bates, nee Schofield). It is with great sadness that we share the news of Clare's death on 24 July 2026, aged 53 years. She was the much loved and cherished mother of Niamh, Murphy, and Owen Bates. Adored and deeply loved partner of Rawiri Motutere. Precious daughter and step-daughter of Bernard Schofield and Jocelyn Service, and Ruth Baird and Brian Adam. Loved sister of Chris Stuart, Crista Schorr-Kon and Finn Schofield, and beloved aunty to their children. Clare was a force of nature: loyal, warm, and a treasured friend to many. Her vibrant free spirit, kindness, and love for her family and friends will be held in our hearts forever.

A celebration of Clare's life will be held at the Ceramco Park Function Centre, Glen Eden on Wednesday 29 July 2026 at 1:00pm. Haere, haere, haere, moe mai ra.
