A teacher, a gardener, a friend to all of Christchurch
Margaret was born in Christchurch in 1942 and never strayed far from the city she loved.
She spent thirty-five years teaching at Linwood Primary, where generations of children learned to read at her elbow. In retirement she turned to her garden, her bridge club, and her grandchildren — not always in that order.
She is remembered for her warmth, her terrible puns, and a roast that could feed the whole street.
